Vodafone: Three Systems Managing the Device Lifecycle

· Updated:

Creamobile built three complementary systems for Vodafone: Cepkurtaran, Corporate Phone Rental and Buyback.

The problem

For an operator a device is not a product that ends at the sale. Damage arrives afterwards, corporate customers want to rent rather than buy, and users moving to a new device want to hand in the old one. Each of these three scenarios works with a different counterparty — service point, corporate customer, retail chain — and a different reconciliation rule.

The solution: three stages of the lifecycle

  • Cepkurtaran — manages the post-sale damage and repair process for the device
  • Corporate Phone Rental — manages corporate customers renting rather than buying devices; ownership stays with the operator and the process runs on contracts and device inventory
  • Buyback — the trade-in system letting a user hand in an old device and move to a new one. It operates across the Samsung, Vestel and Teknosa channels

Why three systems for one subject

What the three share is the question of who holds the device, in what condition and under which contract. Buyback tracks a device's value, condition and hand-in channel; rental tracks the same device's contract term and inventory status; Cepkurtaran tracks the damage record and repair stage. They are separate systems because they work with different counterparties, but all three cover the lifecycle of the same object — the device.

Working across channels

Buyback operating across the Samsung, Vestel and Teknosa channels means the system reaches beyond the operator's own store network. Each channel has its own process, its own authorisation and its own reconciliation; the system carries those differences under a single trade-in flow.
